Session Description: Someday COVID will be over, schools will resume as usual, and maybe field trips will become routine again. When students or adults are injured, or even killed, during the course of a field trip what happens in terms of liability? Field trip immunity is absolute. All persons making a field trip or excursion shall be deemed to have waived all claims against the school district, charter school, or the State of California for injury, accident, illness, or death. Is this really true? Are there limitations?
