Special District Risk Management Authority (SDRMA) is a public entity joint powers authority formed in 1986 to provide property, liability, workers’ compensation, and health benefits coverage protection and risk management services statewide exclusively for California public agencies. SDRMA’s primary objective is to serve as a single comprehensive resource providing quality coverage protection, risk management services, claims management, and a safety and loss prevention program tailored to meet the complex needs of California public agencies. Located in downtown Sacramento, SDRMA is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors supported by 24 staff members.
Under the direct supervision of the Underwriting and Program Manager, the Program Specialist II serves as an integral member of the SDRMA Underwriting and Member Services team, consistent with Board policy, will ensure that members or prospective members are handled in an efficient and customer-friendly manner within an eight-hour working response time. The Program Specialist II is responsible for overseeing the SDRMA Communication Plan. This includes managing the SDRMA website and social media content; updating and maintain all marketing materials; assisting in creating/managing webinars; responsible for responding to MemberPlus inbox; answering phones; responding to member inquiries; processing incoming and outgoing mail; and performing assigned tasks as directed by the Underwriting and Program Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversee the SDRMA Communications Plan. • Oversee production and serve as editor for all District Digests. a. Work with Chief Underwriting Officer on themes, graphics and use of technology. b. Work with various department SMEs on content. c. Ensure timelines met for final deliverable products. • Manage the SDRMA website and social media content. • Update and maintain all marketing materials (SDRMA swag, flyers, conference materials, brochures, exhibitor’s booth, business cards, letterhead, etc.) • Assists with preparation of marketing and booth materials including promotional items for staff attending conferences • • Responsible for formatting and graphic design for the SDRMA annual report and assisting with other organizational documents (i.e. accreditation applications, CAFR, formatting guide) • Onboard new staff members relating to SDRMA communications and generate “Get to Know” new staff member internal communications. • Assist in creating/managing webinars • Assist in organizing and updating the content and format of MemberPlus. • Responsible for the MemberPlus Inbox and ensuring all requests are answered in a timely manner. • Answer the SDRMA main phone line and respond to member inquiries. • Process incoming and outgoing mail. • Maintains working knowledge of Office software products and related SDRMA technology. • Perform other duties as assigned.
