Employee Benefits Technician
Job Description

CIRA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Employee Benefits Technician to support the administration and delivery of employee health and welfare benefit services to member agencies.

This position plays a key role in supporting CIRA’s Employee Benefits Program by assisting with enrollment processes, maintaining benefits records, coordinating with vendors, and responding to member inquiries. The role also supports communications, reporting, and ongoing program operations to ensure a high level of service to participating agencies.

This is a new position and an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in employee benefits, public sector administration, or insurance. The position is primarily remote for California-based candidates, with occasional in-office collaboration in Folsom, CA and periodic travel.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, public administration, insurance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with benefits or database systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a service-oriented environment
Ability to travel occasionally within California (valid driver’s license required)
