ASCIP is a non-profit public agency and Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that provides liability, property, workers’ compensation, health benefits, and school construction insurance to public school districts, charter schools, community colleges, and subsidiary JPAs throughout the state of California.

Senior Risk Services Consultant
Job Description

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Risk Services, this position is responsible for providing consultative services to ASCIP member districts in the following areas: risk analysis, risk management, risk transfer mechanisms, safety, loss control, and loss prevention. Utilizing expertise in these areas and having a general knowledge of insurance and coverage issues, the Consultant will assist members in the identification of exposures, program monitoring interventions, coverage determinations, contract review, and development and delivery of services and programs, all designed to mitigate risks for members and their students, staff, and the public. In tandem with the senior management team, this position will require you to work with a team of consultants overseeing the implementation of a comprehensive plan designed to reduce risk and losses for individual members and the ASCIP pool

Job Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in a field related to risk control or an area of study likely to make a candidate successful in this position is required along with five years of increasingly responsible experience in risk management or loss control. A master’s degree and/or additional professional certifications are highly desirable. Experience with public entities, insurance, risk management or risk pooling is also desirable.
