From this session, you will learn how the County of Los Angeles and City of Los Angeles adapted to COVID-19 with urgency and collaboration within the Workers’ Compensation setting. Hear first-hand from the beginning of broad sweeping “Executive Orders” granting protection for claims filed for first responders, - to the tidal wave of Workers’ Compensation claims that followed. 10:15 – 10:30 a.m.  BREAK AND NETWORKING 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.  Top Down Analysis of a Workers’ Compensation Program Presenters:  Michael Alio, County of Orange;  Beverly Umholtz, County of Orange           (1 CE – Certificate provided) This session will highlight the Workers’ Compensation program currently in place at the County of Orange, including administration of an Alternative Dispute Resolution process, Concierge Program for Orthopedic Care, Bulk Settlements with Applicant’s Attorney, Measuring Defense Attorney Results, WorkStrong and Opioid Task Team, as well as Anti-Fraud and Loss Prevention.  Workers’ Compensation Actuarial Benchmarking indicate overall effectiveness of the County of Orange safety programs and claims management practices.     11:30 – 12:30 p.m.  LUNCH AND NETWORKING 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.  Presenting with Pizzazz!
