The rapid rise in popularity of electronic cigarettes across the United States poses challenges to health experts, regulators, and employers wishing to provide a safe and comfortable work environment. What chemicals are found in the vapor produced by e-cigarettes? Do these chemicals present a workplace hazard? What are the regulatory limitations on e-cigarette use in the workplace? By examining these and other questions, we can develop a reasoned approach to establish a sound workplace e-cigarette policy.
