In her career she was quickly promoted from a Telephonic Case Manager doing embedded Utilization Review (UR) to Field Case Management through a variety of operational management roles. In 2004, Karen developed an entire UR department to address the new Workers’ Compensation reforms, which came into effect. Karen’s Client experience includes a significant number of city, county, and educational public entities. She has served at managerial levels with oversight of a UR program and UR nurses, interfaced with claims administrators for file direction/management, and program collaboration with Clients, Risk Managers, and Human Resource departments. Karen has been with AMC since 2010. Lea Mendez, AMC Director of Client Services – Lea has been with AMC since 2006. She has been in her current role as Director of Client Services since 2008. Lea oversees cost containment for AMC which includes Case Management, Utilization Review, Bill Review, and Medical Provider Network services. Lea’s significant workers’ compensation experience dates back to 1991 in her role as Director of Operations/Regional Manager for a general rehabilitation services company.
