Job Description

About the Role
The accountant will play a key part in managing the fiscal health of our insurance fund through innovative financial management and exceptional member service. This role assists in analyzing the Fund’s financial records, investment activities, and budget strategies.
You’ll work closely with internal staff and member contacts to ensure fiscal stability and design cost-effective risk financing mechanisms across a variety of rural environments and programs.

What You’ll Do
• Prepare and maintain accurate transaction records, invoices, reconciliations, and audit materials.
• Conduct quantitative analyses of financial information that drive investment and budgeting decisions.
• Review and reconcile accounting records, financial statements, and reports for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and JPA standards.
• Research, analyze, and recommend cost-saving and investment strategies.
• Support Trindel’s Executive Director and Board with financial insights and data reports.
• Assist member counties with financial questions, data requests, and system inquiries.
• Ensure policies, regulations, and procedures are followed with integrity and confidentiality.

Job Requirements

What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA or CPA license preferred.
• At least three (3) years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or auditing — public entity experience a plus.
• Deep understanding of GAAP and auditing standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and financial management software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ethical conduct.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
