The Risk Management Department of San Bernardino County is recruiting for a Principal Workers' Compensation Adjuster to assign and review the work of lower-level Adjusters and perform audits for quality assurance and staff development. Duties include receiving and reviewing workers' compensation claims and reports and determining if occupational illness or injury is compensable; developing documentation for claim reports by requesting substantiating reports from physicians, supervisors, and witnesses; and explaining to injured workers their benefits and legal rights under Workers' Compensation Laws.

Certificate: A valid California Self Insurance Administrator Certificate is required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment. -AND- Experience: Six (6) years of experience adjusting workers' compensation claims, including three (3) years adjusting complex litigated claims, such as continuous trauma, AOE/COE, stress disability claims, and the provision of LC4850 and SJDB.
