Liability Claims Aide positions investigate, adjust, and settle lower exposure and less complex property damage claims; loss recovery and criminal restitution claims; tow-away and bailment storage claims; approve or deny claims; negotiate settlements within limits; represent the City in small claims actions; conduct risk studies; and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
You must meet the following requirements on the date you apply, unless otherwise indicated.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: You must meet ONE of the following options:
Two years of full-time clerical experience, which includes one year of experience providing clerical support for liability claims or loss recovery files, researching billing and payment issues, and maintaining liability or loss recovery files electronically and/or hard copy.
18 months of full-time clerical experience, which includes six months of experience providing clerical support for liability claims or loss recovery files, researching billing and payment issues, and maintaining liability or loss recovery files electronically and/or hard copy AND successful completion of The Institutes Knowledge Group class: AIC 300: Claims in an Evolving World.
LICENSE: A valid California Class C Driver License is required at the time of hire.
HIGHLY DESIRBLE:
Experience in the investigation, adjustment and settlement of general and automobile liability claims involving bodily injury, personal injury or property damage.
Experience handling auto liability, general liability or medical payment claims in the private sector or with a public entity.
