The City of Oxnard is seeking a highly skilled professional for the position of Risk Manager to join the Human Resources Department. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the activities and operations of the Risk Management Division. This individual will oversee the administration of general liability claims/litigation, workplace safety, workers’ compensation claims, and the purchase and administration of the insurance programs. The candidate will collaborate with other departments to reduce risks to the City and to promote and enhance the City’s safety culture. The following are the minimum qualifications necessary for entry into the classification: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field. (must be attached to your application) EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of advanced journey-level professional experience in risk management, loss control, safety or similar programs involving workers' compensation, property, casualty and liability claims are required and two (2) years of supervisory experience. Public sector experience is desired. LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid California Class C Driver's License. Possession of an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certificate is highly desirable.
