Job Title: Loss Control Advisor

Keenan is offering an exciting role as a Loss Control Advisor in the Loss Control department. The Loss Control Advisor will provide loss control services and inspections to assigned customers in accordance with the department’s guidelines. Conduct inventories of hazardous materials (HMI) and producing a survey of related hazardous conditions. Assisting customers with compliance with Business Plan requirements.

This position requires frequent travel (up to 75%) within the designation territory. Ideal candidate will be located in the northern LA county/high desert area or anywhere west and northwest from city of Los Angeles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
-Perform on-site Employee Safety (WC) and Property/Liability inspections of client facilities to identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and make recommendations for corrective measures.
-Produce reports from field inspections that meet department guidelines and comply with established department turnaround times.
-Comply with department’s product delivery and follow-up guidelines.
-Responding effectively to specific safety problems or concerns raised by customers.
-Analyze loss trends and determine appropriate risk management best practice solutions to recommend to customers.
-Conduct research on safety and other regulatory issues.
-Communicate effectively with other internal departments on customer strategy issues.
-Stay informed about contractual obligations; tracking service plans and ensuring status is updated on R drive.
-All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements 

MINIMUM SUGGESTED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must have minimum of two (2) years of work-related experience including hazardous materials management, conducting onsite inspections and application of safety regulations.
-Must have strong customer service, writing, presentation and communication skills.
-Should be able to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
-Must be detailed oriented and organized.
-Compliance with state fingerprinting regulations is required.

SOFTWARE: Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Adept at accessing business data from the Internet when required.

LICENSE or CERTIFICATIONS:
-Must maintain current California Drivers’ license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The job entails extensive fieldwork with driving and walking, plus administrative office follow up as required. Overnight stays are required in some areas, and occasional in-state travel. The employee should be able to:
-Frequently travel to client sites.
-Often walk up to five (5) miles a day over the school grounds.
-Often climb up steps, bleachers, playground equipment, ladders, etc.
-Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or twist to better identify hazards.
-Withstand sun exposure for a number of consecutive days.
-Reach overhead occasionally to materials stored on overhead shelves.
-Occasionally move or lift boxes
-Frequently operate small tools and measuring devices (monitoring devices, tapes, screwdrivers, calipers, etc.).
-Often type.
-Occasionally sit up to seven (7) hours a day at a computer workstation.
