Job Title: Safety and Ergonomics Manager

Job Description 

The County of San Mateo is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Safety and Ergonomics Manager.

The Safety and Ergonomics Manager designs, implements, and monitors the safety and ergonomic plans and programs for the County, informs and collaborates with departments, identifies and evaluates safety and ergonomic needs, assists the County Workers' Compensation Manager with the resolution of issues involving both workers' compensation and safety, develops and presents series of training topics to managers and employees, establishes and updates required policies, procedures, and guidelines, maintains a variety of records, and prepares regular and special technical reports.

The Safety and Ergonomics Manager also serves as the County of San Mateo's Title II ADA Coordinator. The Title II ADA Coordinator responds to and investigates public access complaints to County services and facilities. Additionally, the Title II ADA Coordinator maintains the County's ADA Transition Plan and is a member of the County's ADA Compliance Committee.

In addition, the position may be required to provide support to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergencies.

Job Requirements 

Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, or a related field. Professional administrative experience in government is strongly desired.

Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
