The ACWA JPIA is a public entity formed in 1979 by the water agencies of the state of California. Like its members, the JPIA is a special district in the state of California. Its formation and operation are subject to the provisions of the California Government Code, including the Brown Act. It provides risk-sharing pools to meet the needs of its members for property, liability, workers' compensation, and employee benefits coverage.

Job Title: Assistant Executive Officer

Job Description 

ACWA JPIA is recruiting for an Assistant Executive Officer. Under limited direction,
this position will work closely with the CEO to ensure smooth and efficient operations,
explore relevant products and services, and focus on continuous improvement – requiring
a high level of knowledge and expertise in organizational management. This position is
responsible for understanding individual departmental goals, challenges and measures of
success; partnering with Directors to ensure member needs are met and goals achieved;
and interacting with board members, agency staff and stakeholders. The chosen
candidate must exemplify JPIA’s values, be able to engage and motivate staff of all levels
and instill trust in all interactions. Knowledge of organizational operations including finance,
administration, human resources, member support, employee benefits, programs and
claims is critical, as is a professional track record that exemplifies a high level of integrity
and trustworthiness.
