Since 2014, Tara has managed local, state and federal funding for homeless assistance programs and worked collaboratively to improve the countywide homeless services system. She has over 15 years of experience in non-profit, healthcare, research and social services. Her work has focused on improving systems of care for vulnerable populations. Homelessness is a complex issue facing communities across California. Ventura County much like other California communities has seen a nearly 50% increase in unsheltered homelessness over the past two years. This session will provide an overview of the state of homelessness in Ventura County, the strategies being employed, and the challenges associated with developing solutions to address these complex issues. 11:45-1:00 PM Lunch/Buffet 1:00 PM-2:00 PM The 2020 Employment Law Update Speaker Name: Jonathan Light Synopsis: Jon Light has more than 30 years of experience in the field of employment law, As the managing attorney at LightGabler, Jon and his team members consult with over 1,500 companies throughout California regarding their day-to-day employment law needs. Jon has successful jury trial, court trial, appellate, Labor Commission and binding arbitration results in lawsuits and administrative claims involving discrimination, harassment, class action, wage and hour, and other employment related matters. It’s that time again! California courts and our legislative representatives have new fun in store for employers in 2020. To fully protect the workplace from costly employment disputes and government audits, California employers, managers and human resource professionals must stay abreast of the ever-changing landscape of employment laws in our state and cities, as well as the cases decided by California and federal courts throughout the year.
